This colourful sunset was painted in 2011. This was my first palette knife painting (see below for more info) and it was a challenge! I guess you could say this little piece was the start of my palette knife passion :)
These are palette knives and you use them to.. uh paint. I guess you could say there's a special technique, but once you get it down its pretty simple and fun to experiment. Using knives to paint as opposed to brushes creates a 'messier', more textured look (though you could definitely paint precise details as well) I guess its personal preference but I would say that overall I prefer the technique and the result from palette knives more so than paint brushes :)
